Tara Conklin, CPC: Coding Analyst

Ms. Conklin has served as a certified coder and reimbursement specialist for seven years, receiving her CPC with the AAPC in 2000. She began in radiology, specializing in diagnostic and interventional services. During the past seven years, she gained experience in coding for 17 separate specialties with an emphasis on radiology, vascular, E&M and general surgery.

Ms. Conklin taught coding and CPC coding preparatory courses with the CRN Institute for four years. Previously, she served as the lead coder at a 22-radiologist practice in Tampa, Fla.; as a coding manager at a large outpatient clinic in LaGrange, Ga.; and as the director of coding operations at Premier Medical Consultants, a large radiology billing company in Largo, Fla. She received medical training from Star Technical Institute in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., and then went on to study medical coding with the Coding and Reimbursement Network in New Jersey.
