Ms. Walker offers more than 15 years of experience in the medical field. She is a certified professional coder, specializing in radiology, emergency medicine, urogynocology and outpatient surgery. She is currently the Manager of Coding Solutions for CodeRyte, where she consults with clients about how computer-assisted coding solution can work for them.
Prior to CodeRyte, Ms. Walker managed academic physician practices. She was previously employed by Scott & White, a residential practice for Texas A&M University. While there, she coded all emergency department visits and trained residents on proper documentation and coding logic. Ms. Walker focused her educational training on the professional and technical sides of coding and billing. Ms. Walker also worked as an APC coordinator for Metroplex Hospital, which is part of the Seventh Day Adventist Health System. While with Metroplex, she worked with the radiology department to continually update the charge master and managed the relationship of APC to the hospital’s ancillary departments. She also coded all of the hospital’s outpatient services and services within the emergency department. Ms. Walker has consulted for several hospital systems to improve workflow and coding outcomes for ancillary services. She has presented on computer-assisted coding to many state chapters of APPC and AHIMA, as well as the RBMA. She has also co-presented coding and reimbursement seminars nationwide for the AHRA. |
