Sponsor of AHIMA's effort to create standards for computer-assisted coding

  • CodeRyte joined 3M Health Information Systems and MedQuist in 2006 to sponsor AHIMA's first collaborative effort to establish standards for the computer-assisted coding industry. CodeRyte experts, including Philip Resnik, Ph.D., participated in the workshop to help AHIMA craft standards for the industry. Though no standards are in effect as of yet, CodeRyte continues to be an active partner in AHIMA’s efforts.

Strong branding creates a competitive edge

  • Presented by Peggy Wagner, Account Executive, at the September 2008 AHRA conference in Albuquerque, N.M. Peggy wowed attendees with her presentation that hones in on the building blocks necessary to market a successful radiology practice. Her presentation demonstrated how practices can drill into their core services and specialties to shine in their local markets.

  • Presented by Laureen Jandroep, Coding Analyst, at the January 2008 AAPC conference in Anaheim, Calif. Attendees learned how technology is changing how people work in virtually every industry and medical coding is no different. Laureen presented a live demonstration of CodeRyte’s computer-assisted coding software and showed how it improves coding accuracy, productivity and management reporting.

  • Presented by MeChelle Walker, Manager of Coding Solutions, at the AHRA Coding & Reimbursement seminars held at different locations across the country in early 2008. Attendees learned the basics about computer-assisted coding and how it can be implemented to improve the quality of coding work, improve compliance, reduce the cost to collect, and help their organizations achieve their full, rightfull reimbursement.

Using the Six-Sigma process to improve radiology practices

  • Presented by Josh Pollatsek, Vice President of Client Services, at the 2008 RBMA Radiology Summit in Las Vegas, Nev. Josh explained what Six-Sigma is and how it can be applied to get at the root causes of typical problems in radiology practices like too many denied claims. Attendees came away with the knowledge they needed to use this great framework to tackle problems in their own operations.

Computer-assisted coding in diagnostic radiology today

  • Presented by Terry Leone (President Elect, National Advisory Board - American Academy of Professional Coders and President, Catamount Associates) and MeChelle Walker (Manager of Coding Solutions for CodeRyte) at the AAPC 2008 National Conference in Orlando, Fla. Terry and MeChelle provided an overview of how computer-assisted coding works in diagnsotic radiology. Terry explained the driving factors behind his decision to adopt computer-assisted coding for his company.

HBMA: Comments on ANSI 5010 & ICD-10 implementation
  • The Healthcare Billing and Management Association (HBMA) convened a task force, including CodeRyte, in the fall of 2008 to submit comments on the Department of Health and Human Services' proposed implementation of new transaction standards (5010) and the adoption of ICD-10.

Why Branding Matters and How to do it Right

  • Presented by Evan McDonnell, Vice President of Marketing, as part of the 2009 HBMA distance learning program. Evan explained how billing companies that don't yet have full-time marketing staff don't need to wait to put the elements of good branding in place and how it can be done for little or no cost. Participants came away with the knowledge they needed to make an impact on their business right away.
