Andrew Kapit: Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kapit is CodeRyte’s Chief Executive Officer and a member of its board of directors. He joined the company after completing the turnaround of a 150-bed specialty hospital where he became chief executive officer and chief operating officer two days after the organization was put on a 16-day fast track termination from Medicare/Medicaid. After a successful appeal in a federal administrative hearing that prompted all local and federal actions against the organization to be rescinded, Mr. Kapit stabilized the hospital and established an institutional reputation of honesty, quality, and ethical and compassionate care that helped revenues grow from less than $3 million to more than $20 million within two years.

With both an MBA and BA from Columbia University, Mr. Kapit has worked as an investment banker with First Capital Advisers in New York and in healthcare finance at a privately held investment and healthcare management firm in Baltimore. Mr. Kapit was founder and president of the Ides of April Family of Companies, which was profiled in the personal business section of BusinessWeek, as well as Money magazine and the Christian Science Monitor. In addition, Mr. Kapit has served as a teacher for autistic children in kindergarten and has taught at all levels ranging from kindergarten to graduate level courses at Columbia University.
