Thursday, 03 April 2008

Richmond, Va., and Bethesda, Md.—HealthCare Management Systems, an ArborMed Company and provider of healthcare billing software, services and consulting; and CodeRyte, Inc., the healthcare industry’s premier provider of computer-assisted coding and data extraction technologies, announce today a strategic partnership to bring CodeRyte’s computer-assisted coding technology to HealthCare Management Systems-ArborMed (HMS) and its clients.

“We are very excited about this collaboration and I know our clients will be very pleased to benefit from the improved coding accuracy, enhanced compliance, and maximized appropriate reimbursement that CodeRyte’s technology offers,” said Richard B. Usry, HMS senior vice president and chief technical officer.

The agreement will mean the creation of a standard CodeRyte interface to send medical codes from CodeRyte directly to HMS, further streamlining the coding process.

"We are excited to be partnering with HMS and CodeRyte and look forward to implementing the systems together for a more seamless process,” said Joe Serio, chief executive officer for Radiology of Huntsville, a physicians’ practice in Alabama that recently signed on as a CodeRyte client and will be benefiting from the HMS partnership.

We are proud HMS chose CodeRyte’s computer-assisted coding technology to maximize its efficiency and ensure accurate and compliant coding for its clients,” said Andy Kapit, CodeRyte chief executive officer. “CodeRyte’s rapidly growing client-base shares a unique appreciation for accurate and compliant coding because it ensures quality healthcare and the benefits of economic success. We are happy to welcome HMS’ clients into the CodeRyte family.”

Founded in 1976, HMS has installed hundreds of systems for the healthcare community, covering a wide variety of specialties. HMS dedicates products and services to the needs of hospital-based specialties, recognizing the unique challenges of each branch of medicine. Because each installation is parameter controlled, the HMS system is perfect for the billing service industry as well. HMS consists of two divisions to serve the needs of hospital-based physicians—the Turnkey Division, which combines powerful industry-standard hardware with the HMS Medical Management System software for practices that desire their own independent billing operation; and the HMS Practice Management Division, which provides billing and management solutions for groups who do not wish to face the challenge of an internal billing operation.
