CodeRyte expands services to satisfied customers; increases clientele

Sunday, 27 November 2005
Bethesda, Maryland (November 27, 2005) — Longstanding CodeRyte clients continue to expand their use of CodeRyte services to further improve their coding operations, even as new customers line up to add CodeRyte's technologies to help achieve “best practices” in practice management and coding, the Bethesda, Md.-based healthcare technology and services company announced today.

Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Texas, which has been using CodeRyte's radiology flagship application since October 2003, has added CodeRyte's new coding products for hospital-based E/M coding for medical specialists and primary care, and for surgery, and ob/gyn, orthopedic and gastroenterology procedures.

“Our decision to approach CodeRyte about our need for physician coding for hospital-based visits and procedures was based primarily on two conclusions,” said Gena Hannah, Trinity's director of clinical systems: “first, that we needed to improve coding and decrease internal costs fairly quickly, and second, that based on our radiology experience, we knew CodeRyte would be the answer. Lower costs, better coding, improved reimbursement, happier doctors — that's why we chose CodeRyte as our coding partner.”

Meanwhile, Radiological Associates of Sacramento Medical Group, Inc. (RAS) has recently “gone live” with CodeRyte's flagship radiology product.

“In the short time we have been live with CodeRyte, we have eliminated the prep work involved in batching and sorting reports before they are coded and charged by our coders,” said Terri Estep, coding supervisor at RAS, the largest physician-owned radiology and radiation oncology medical group in Northern California.

“We also have seen an immediate increase in the productivity of our coders,” said Estep. “Since CodeRyte is such a user-friendly system, it required minimal training for our coders to be able to navigate the system. And, unlike other system implementations, the CodeRyte team has responded quickly to our issues and changes, making the implementation process extremely painless.”

Clarian Health Partners, Indianapolis, plans to complement and enhance the CodeRyte radiology product it now uses for professional services with CodeRyte's new technical services coding component in 2006. This combined coding results application enables sophisticated coordination of professional and technical codes by allowing real-time, professional and technical billing to be submitted to payers simultaneously. Chicago's Rush University Medical Center and Shands at the University of Florida (UF), Gainesville, have just expanded their use of CodeRyte technology to incorporate this application, which is now becoming an industry trend.

“We hope to improve both productivity and compliance with this new application,”said Michelle White, health information manager at Clarian. “We want to become more efficient in coding for both professional and technical services.”

CodeRyte is a growing company that is continuously developing new technologies and services to automate and improve healthcare coding and billing processes, as well as compliance and quality monitoring capabilities. In addition to the above-mentioned products, among the company's newest applications are:
  • an integrated encoder for both CPT and ICD-9-CM codes
  • an angiography coding tool
  • a User Interface that provides direct integration with voice-to-text transcription
