CodeRyte wraps 2007 with new clients across all segments
Successful year ushered in new specialties, dynamic growth to expanding company
Bethesda, Md., Jan. 31, 2008—CodeRyte, Inc., the healthcare industry’s premier provider of computer-assisted coding technologies, ended 2007 with continued growth throughout all market segments. New clients will use CodeRyte’s natural language processing technology (NLP) and Web-enabled workflow software to maximize appropriate reimbursement, reduce denials, decrease outstanding account receivables and improve the efficiency of their coding organizations. Additionally, several existing clients will begin using CodeRyte’s new clinical search application, DataScout.
“CodeRyte’s continued expansion into new specialties and applications—including DataScout—demonstrates the power of our technology and the growing demand for accurate coding, improved quality of care and better access to clinical information” said Andy Kapit, CodeRyte chief executive officer and leader of the company’s nearly 100-person staff. “2007 closed on a great note, as CodeRyte now has nearly 90 clients including more than 25 academic medical centers and large integrated delivery networks, 30 single specialty practices and more than 25 billing companies. We process more than 2.5 million procedures, and growing, every month for our valued clients across the nation.”
CodeRyte’s fourth quarter growth stemmed from expanding relationships with existing clients and the addition of new clients throughout the academic, physician practice, hospital and medical billing company segments, including:
• The University of Virginia Health System’s department of radiology in Charlottesville, Va. In addition to the NLP-coding application, the academic medical center plans to use the tools and reporting features available in CodeRyte’s technology to improve coder training and quality billing audits.
“We selected CodeRyte based upon their solid history of working with academic radiology departments, combined with their depth of knowledge in radiology coding and their strength of infrastructure,” said James Carnes, University of Virginia Health System radiology department chief operating officer. “Their reputation is stellar—all of CodeRyte's current clients with whom we spoke provided glowing references in regard to customer service and assistance with implementation, in addition to the on-going service with day-to-day operations.”
• CIPROMS South , a Tampa, Fla., company specializing in revenue cycle management for more than 50 medical professionals. Since 1983, the staff of CIPROMS South has provided innovative medical billing solutions for healthcare professionals with services designed to increase revenue, improve cash flow, reduce costs and minimize the administrative aggravations associated with the ever changing rules and regulations.
“CIPROMS South decided to use the CodeRyte coding software because it allows the coder to become an editor instead of doing the entire process, hence less fatigue, more efficiency, accuracy and consistency,” said Andre Landreville, M.D., president and chief executive officer of CIPROMS South. “We project that it will improve our compliance and yield significant savings. Finally, the download of data from CodeRyte to our billing software will decrease the potential human error seen in the manual data entry process.”
• RSM McGladrey, Inc. , a leading professional services firm providing accounting, tax and business consulting (medical billing, operational consulting, strategic planning, human resources, risk management and information technology) services to healthcare institutions across the nation. RSM McGladrey operates in an alternative practice structure with McGladrey & Pullen LLP, a partner-owned CPA firm that delivers audit and attest services. Through separate and independent legal entities, they work together to serve clients’ business needs. Together, the companies rank as the fifth largest U.S. provider of accounting, tax and business consulting services, with 8,000 professionals and associates in nearly 100 offices.
“We have partnered with CodeRyte in an effort to enhance the delivery of our high quality medical billing services,” said Eric Weber, RSM McGladrey’s director of physician services. “Integrating CodeRyte’s computer-based coding solution, with our existing business practices, will maximize our efficiencies and provide us with the tools to better serve our clients.”
• The Radiology Group, Inc. , a Pearl City, Hawaii, specialty medical practice of board-certified physicians who specialize in radiology. The team aims to elevate the level of care for its patients through highly specialized, advanced diagnostic imaging. • The University of Mississippi Medical Center's Division of Cardiovascular Diseases in Jackson, Miss., which teamed with CodeRyte to increase its cardiology coding accuracy and efficiency, as well as to reduce its days in AR.
"We chose CodeRyte so we could convert to an electronic format and improve our coding. We are looking forward to reducing our days in AR, improving our compliance program and improving our bottom line,” said Brian Rutledge, manager of business and clinical operations for the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Division of Cardiovascular Diseases. “CodeRyte showed us how powerful coding technology can make a big difference in many areas."
